“Hi, I’m Bradley McCann and today I’ll be reading to you from a prose piece called Be Like.
It would be like creamy pudding, not brandy pudding. It’d be on the beach under starry sky, not in the mosh pit at a Guns and Roses concert. It’d be sipped, not skulled. It’d be hot, but it’d be the heat of sunrise, not the fire of open flame. It’d taste like cherries, fresh, crisp, sweet. Feel like cool sheets. Sound like soft gasps. Look like Eros and Psyche, tangled, skin. The atmosphere would be dark and hushed, but warm, not seductive.
She’s like sunlight; I’m like wind along cliffs. I make love like rainfall in forest, gentle, sensual, life-giving. She’d make love like ocean currents, endless, deep, embracing. It’d be made, with joy. With discovery and hide-and-seek. I’d see her peel away petals of self like clothing. I’d shiver, naked … doze under sunlight … shiver under cloud … dream under moon-glow. The sun would be her skin, laughter, voice. The moon would be her breath and heartbeat. I’d dream her, and she’d dream me, and in lovemaking, the dreams should touch. “
